Wells Town faced tough conditions when they travelled to Castle Acre on Saturday (final score: Castle Acre 5 Wells Town 2).
The Seasiders took a deserved lead early into the contest against the league leaders.
The hosts equalised as the match progressed Wells took advantage again and went in front with another good effort.
Castle Acre then hit two quick goals to level and go in at the interval 3-2 ahead.
The visitors struggled in the second period as conditions underfoot deteriorated, the hosts killed off the contest with two further goals.
Wells Res saw a three-goal lead slip as they drew 3-3 with King's Lynn SSC.
Wells Town will see County Cup action this Saturday (November 18) as they travel to Downham Market, kick-off at 1.30pm.
Wells Res host AFC Lynn on Saturday, 2pm kick-off.
