With no first team match scheduled for Wells Town Football Club, attention turned to Wells Res, who took on Feltwell United in a home match in the Anglian Combination Divivision 4.
Wells started brightly and scored very early in the contest with a well-placed finish.
It wasn’t long after the restart that the visitors equalised as they showed some accuracy in moving the ball across the pitch.
The visitors then scored in quick succession to take full advantage of the match and showed some confidence as they moved the ball around the pitch.
In the second period, Wells Res upped their game and reduced the arrears but the damage had been done in the first period, and the final scoreline was 4-8.
Scorers for Wells were Drummie with two goals, and Chinn and Wright Smith, each with one.
Wells Town hosts Wymondham Town on Saturday, October 7, in the County Cup, kick-off at 2.30pm
