A new film festival is offering people in Fakenham the chance to see themselves star on the big screen.
The inaugural Fakenham Film Festival, celebrating North Norfolk and its communities, will incorporate films of local events, including the popular riverside festival and duck and raft races, and even footage from the 2014 Fakenham Shopkeepers Olympics.
Scheduled to run over four Tuesday evenings from September 17 at the Central Cinema Fakenham, the festival is organised by Active Fakenham.
Richard Crook, from the group, said: “We have organised events and activities over a number of years and during that time we have worked with and supported young local filmmakers and musicians.

"This is an opportunity to showcase some of their work as well as to see some excellent feature films made in North Norfolk.”
The festival opens with the 2019 documentary Seaside Special on September 17, followed by a new film of the 2024 Fakenham Riverside Festival, and duck and cardboard raft races by local filmmaker Oliver Woodgate.
Mr Crook said: “This is an exciting development for Fakenham and an opportunity to showcase not only North Norfolk but also some local talent."
A red carpet event is at 5.30pm on the first evening, with the £5 ticket price covering a photo opportunity on the red carpet.

The closing night, October 8, will screen The Final Reel, a documentary about Norfolk’s adoration for cinema.
A pre-feature by Norfolk-based sound effects editor, Chris Redmond, delves into the peculiarities of the Fakenham Cinema.
Supported by Fakenham Film Society and Fakenham and District Community Archive, and sponsored by Aldiss and Stephenson Smart Accountants, the festival hopes to be an affordable entertainment, with tickets priced at £5.
