A market town is now home to a national chain’s store of the year.
The team at The Works in Fakenham beat out over 520 other stores from across the UK and Ireland from the high street brand to be awarded the title of store of the year 2023.
They were handed the award at its Millers Walk unit.

Debbie Jamieson, people director at The Works, said: “We have high expectations of our teams, the competition was fierce, but the Fakenham team impressed us with how much they care for each other, for their customers and the local Fakenham community.
“The Fakenham team are true heroes of The Works, overcoming many challenges and embodying our purpose of inspiring reading, learning, creativity and play.”
Samantha Burn, Fakenham store manager, said: “I’m shocked, little old Fakenham. I said to the team not long ago that we’re like a phoenix rising from the ashes so to win Store of the Year – I’m blown away.
It means so much to us as a team and I couldn’t have done it without the girls. We’re absolutely delighted.”
