A popular radio DJ has been invited along to next year’s Christmas spectacular after discovering it live on air.
Sara Cox, who hosts the drive-time show on BBC Radio 2 discovered the Thursford Christmas Spectacular live on air during her show on December 20.
A listener messaged the station to say they were driving down to the show, to which the DJ responded: “How spectacular is this Thursford Christmas thing, let me know please.”
She then started to look at the show’s website, reading the description of “non-stop singing, dancing, music, humour,” to which Bobbie, the traffic reporter, said: “This sounds fantastic,” before asking what train she could catch to see it.
Local listeners texted in telling her that the show was in Norfolk, or had attended the show, with the DJ saying: “Next year I may get on the lineup,” citing her impressions of a Dalek or Columbo as what she would perform.
After being told of the conversation, Thursford has contacted Sara Cox to invite her to attend the show next year, as it's sold out this year, and are now waiting to hear back on whether this would be possible.
