All the colours of the rainbow lit up the night sky in Wells-next-the-Sea.
Crowds flocked to the north Norfolk beauty spot for the town’s annual festive lights switch-on, which is called Wells Christmas Tide.
The climax of the evening was a parade led by the Sandringham Piper, fire-eaters, children with lanterns and the Norwich Samba band.
Participants ambled to the water's edge for the unorthodox arrival of Santa Claus.
Rather than making his way to the gathering by way of a reindeer-pulled sleigh or tinsel-decked car, jolly old Saint Nick got to Wells by way of a brightly-lit boat, which docked at the quayside.

Titanium Fireworks was the firm behind the spectacle which Marcus French, from the Christmas Tide organising team, called "tremendous".
He said: "Lots of people said they were the best they have ever seen.

Brilliantly captured in these shots by Minors and Brady property photographer Brad Damms, the parade of rocketry drew oohs and aahs as they exploded high in the firmament.
Mr French added: "The flotilla of boats was the best we have had, with all local fishermen lighting their boats for the event.
