A set of swish new loos has started flushing in Fakenham.
The toilet block - hailed as 'state-of-the-art' has been unveiled at Queen's Road Car Park.
The building includes male and female toilets, a gender-neutral room, a family room, an accessible toilet and a 'changing places' toilet with equipment such a changing bench.
Councillor Lucy Shires, North Norfolk District Council's portfolio holder for finance, estates and property services said: “We’re proud to provide excellent public facilities for North Norfolk - state-of-the-art public toilets like the facilities in Fakenham are something the council considers an essential provision.
“Accessible toilets and Changing Places rooms offer families a lifeline in planning their day or holiday, which are often planned around accessible and inclusive facilities.”
The block is part of a £1.6m project NNDC is running to replace toilets across the district.
Also being upgraded in the project are toilets at Stearmans Yard in Wells, Vicarage Street in North Walsham and The Leas in Sheringham.
The new toilets in North Walsham are being built by the Terrington St Clement-based construction firm T M Browne, and and should be finished by the end of July.
Councillor Jeremy Punchard, who represents Lancaster South ward in Fakenham, said: "The council regards the provision of good quality public conveniences as a key service, underpinning the district’s tourism offering as well as town centre economies.
"Many residents and visitors with accessibility requirements plan their trips around the availability of accessible facilities like the changing places rooms."
Councillor Liz Vickers, who is also a Lancaster South member, added: “This improvement to our facilities, partly funded by a UK government grant, is welcome.
We want to encourage local families and visitors into our town centre."
