Police in north Norfolk have been clamping down on rural thefts after a spate of incidents in recent months.
The latest newsletter from the North Norfolk Safer Neighbourhood Team tells residents that officers have been focused on preventing rural theft, conducting patrols in vulnerable areas and offering crime prevention advice.
It added that police have recently seized four vehicles and made nine arrests in the area in connection with oil theft investigations.
Providing further details, a spokesman for the constabulary said two men in their 30s were arrested in the early hours of June 23 in Wells.
It came after officers stopped a vehicle and discovered several containers of cooking oil.
The men were taken into custody for questioning and released under investigation.
On August 30, a man in his 20s and another in his 30s were arrested on the A149 in connection with the theft of cooking oil in the Wells and Morston areas.
They were also released under investigation.
