Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday - Pedal Norfolk at Holkham Hall. A range of cycle races and routes both on the estate and along north Norfolk's scenic country and coastal roads. Day admission to Holkham park for visitors to enjoy the festival will be £5 per adult and children 16 years and under will be free.
Saturday - Creake Abbey, Plant Lovers' Day. This celebrated horticultural event, now in its 10th year, will welcome 36 garden nurseries and an anticipated 1,600 visitors. A wide range of plants will be on offer. The gate opens at 10am and closes at 4pm. Entrance to the plant fair is £4 per adult and there is no charge for under 16s. It will again raise funds for Wells Community Hospital Trust.
Saturday - new exhibition opens at Bishop Bonner's Cottage Museum in Dereham on toy and model making firm Hobbies including rare collection of Alan Cambridge's fretsaw models. Free open day from 1.30pm until 4pm.
Saturday - art exhibition at St Margaret's Church in Worthing, near Dereham, by Art 4 All Norfolk. 10am and 4pm, all profits will be donated to North Elmham Primary School's library fund. For more details visit the website www.art4allnorfolk.co.uk.
Sunday - Grand Fete at St Mary's Church in North Creake. 2pm to 4.30pm with entertainment for all the family from various stalls to a bygones country antiques roadshow. Sunday - gardens open for National Garden Scheme. The Old Rectory at Brandon Parva which has four-acres of garden compartments showcasing pergolas covered in roses, wisteria and clematis with plenty of beautiful mixed borders. Warborough House in Stiffkey has seven colourful acres which include a woodland walk, shrub borders, formal terraces and a walled kitchen garden. For more information go to www.ngs.org.uk.
Sunday - Foulsham Open Gardens, 11am to 5pm starting at New Frost Hall. Adults £4, children free. Almost a dozen gardens of various sizes and styles throughout the village will be open to the public. There will also be a scavenger hunt for children, as well as refreshments. Programmes and maps of the village and gardens will be available and proceeds will be going to the New Frost Hall. Tuesday, May 30 - Walsingham Picture Palace. Creative Arts East screening of the film Lion, 2016 Australian/British biographical film which is based on Saroo Brierley's non-fiction book A Long Way Home.
