ALLEN GEORGE ALFRED Passed away peacefully aged 89 on March 30th at Gifford House Care Home, Basildon, Essex where he had spent the last few months of his life to be closer to his seven children and their families. Before then George had spent many happy years in Norfolk - in Mileham with his loving and loved wife Doris (Dot) of over 56 years until her death in 1999, and then in Dereham where he was well known. George had an active life, participating fully in the arts, in his role for the Mileham Parish Council and in supporting his charity work for Mencap. The funeral service will be held at Upminster Crematorium, Essex on Wednesday April 13th, at 11 am. Flowers or donations for Drayton Residential Home, 189 Drayton High Road, Norwich (dad would have preferred) can be sent c/o Co-operative Funeral Care, 149 St. Marys Lane, Upminster, RM14 3BL
